We see director/producer Michael Bay and silliness with colleagues Louis Love and Lisa Grayson

We attended an IMAX first look fan event of the next Transformers: The Last Night with director/producer Michael Bay in attendance. At the beginning of the intro video he said, he wanted his last Transformers picture to be visually amazing. Then he mentioned that they locked fourteen writers in a room and they came back with fourteen different stories. Does that mean we’ll see more Transformers?

Director/producer Michael Bay and Angela Ortíz at IMAX first look fan event of Transformers: The Last Night.

In the meantime, we watched a few cuts of the upcoming film, which left me with more questions.

Is Optimus Prime gone? Humans and Transformers are at war. The key to saving the future lies in the secrets of the past and the hidden history of Transformers on Earth. Now, it looks like the most unlikely alliance of an English lord (Anthony Hopkins), Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg), an Oxford professor (Laura Haddock), and Bumblebee to the rescue.

Also starring Gemma Chan, Isabela Moner, Josh Duhamel, Stanley Tucci, Santiago Cabrera, Peter Cullen, Juliocesar Chavez, and many more.

Transformers: The Last Night is in theaters June 23, 2017 (USA). — A.O.

Marina Soto Echaniz and The Boss Baby

Marina Soto Echaniz

I had a great conversation with Marina Soto Echaniz, Animation Production Supervisor at DreamWorks Animation. We talked about her background that has nothing to do with animation or film—she has a Masters Degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Culture and Education. I think having that background may be one of the reasons she’s so good at what she does.

She says; “I consider myself a problem solver and a self-starter, taking the initiative and looking for a solution to the obstacles that occur on projects often on a daily basis.”

She’s a 20-year veteran in her field and has worked on many films, which include these titles The Croods, Kung Fu Panda 3, but has a special place for Me and My Shadow, which was never released. Her latest film project is The Boss Baby. Now you can listen in on the conversation. — A.O.
