Orci and Kurtzman get “Sleepy”

It’s not as if Mexican-born Roberto Orci and his longtime writing and producing partner Alex Kurtzman don’t have enough to do. They’re writing and/or producing everything from the warp-up of Fringe and the continuing adventures of Hawaii Five-0 to the next script for The Amazing Spider-Man and Star Trek franchises, as well as the Van Helsing rebootAnd don’t even ask how many projects they have in development. In any event, now we can add Sleepy Hollow to that list.

They’re teaming with Len Wiseman, the director of Underworld, to shop a TV series based on the legend of Sleepy Hollow–a modern-day “re-imaging” of the Washington Irving classic about Ichabod Crane, where Crane will now serve as a kind of amateur detective working with the local (female) sheriff. So a little bit of “Once Upon a Time,” a big hunk of Tim Burton’s Sleepy Hollow, a dash of Haven and…who knows?

No one’s picked it up yet, but this is Orci/Kurtzman, after all–not to mention Wiseman. Chances are someone will bite.

More as it develops…
