Tuesday, December 17

Christina Aguilera’s The Voice ends its current season tonight with the big, big finale at 9P on NBC, or you can catch Miguel Ferrer on NCIS: Los Angeles at 9P on CBS. Then Sarah Shahi continues being absolutely deadly on the mid-season finale of Person of Interest at 10P on CBS. Reese, Reese don’t go!

Comedy, Drama, Music and Mayhem with Latinos All Over Tuesday TV

Jorge Luis Pallo
NCIS: Los Angeles

Tuesday continues to be the richest night of the week for Latinos on scripted programs (and music competitions, for that matter). Our advice: DVR everything you can to get through the rest of the week.

Tonita Castro rules the roost(s) on Dads, 8P on Fox (and getting a full year of episodes now, too).

Daniella Pineda is one of many, many witches all over the tube this season, this one on The Originals, 8P on the CW.

Natalie Morales Trophy Wife

Stephanie Biatriz and Melissa Fumero are the coolest cops on the squad in Brooklyn Nine Nine, 8:30P on Fox.

Jorge-Luis Pallo guest stars on NCIS: Los Angeles, 9P on CBS.

Natalie Morales continues to show her funny (and frantic) side on Trophy Wife, 9:30P on ABC. Looks like we’ll get a full season of the show; ABC’s just ordered some more episodes.

Sarah Shahi is just plain scary as the best ‘good’ assassin around on Person of Interest, 10P on CBS.

Jimmy Smits offers up one of the best and most unexpected performances of the season in Sons of Anarchy, 10P on FX.

A Little Faded, but Still Busy: Six New Shows with Latinos in the Mix on Tuesday

Kirk Acevedo

As the winter approaches, you’re seeing more and more repeats and “specials” in the schedule…but there’s still comedy, drama, and a little oddness to be found with Latinos in front of the camera, all new this Tuesday:

Daniella Pineda is a wonderful witch in The Originals, 8P on the CW.

There’s another new hour of The Voice with Christina Aguilera at 9P–yes, later than usual–on NBC.

We miss Cote de Pablo but we have Rick Gonzalez guests stars on tonight’s episode of NCIS. At 8P on CBS.

Natalie Morales keeps making us laugh on Trophy Wife, 9:30P on ABC. Let’s hope this show gets a chance to shine in another time spot–soon.

Sarah Shahi is joined by guest star Kirk Acevedo in a new episode of Person of Interest, 10P on CBS.

Jimmy Smits is building one of the most interesting anti-heroes on TV in Sons of Anarchy. Jenny Gago is also doing an arc as Jimmy’s Nero character’s lawyer and other Latinos in the mix. Catch a new episode at 10P on FX.

Too Much TV on Tuesday (Again)

Kind of ridiculous: ten different shows on network and cable crowed into every Tuesday. Better crank up that DVR.

Monica Raymund
Chicago Fire

Latinos are in a remarkable number of new and continuing scripted series this fall, but for some reason the vast majority of them are crammed into two weeknights – Tuesday and Thursday. Here’s a large helping of newness worth recording and watching throughout the rest of the (mostly pretty thin) week:

Tonita Castro is the housekeeper to be reckoned with on Dads, 8P on Fox.

Daniella Pineda is one of the witches fighting hard against the powerful vampires on The Originals, 8P on the CW.

Stephanie Biatriz and Melissa Fumero are the toughest cop-chicks in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, 8:30P on Fox.

Jimmy Smits
Sons of Anarchy

Miguel Ferrer still intimidates us (and plenty of other people) as the growliest boss on record in NCIS: Los Angeles, 9P on CBS.

Christina Aguilera coaches and claps through The Voice, 9P on NBC.

Nina Lisandrello as Detective Tess Vargas in Beauty and the Beast on the CW at 9p.

Natalie Morales does her best not to be nuts on Trophy Wife, 9:30 P on ABC.

Sarah Shahi is beautiful, deadly, and mostly deadpan on Person of Interest, 10P on CBS.

Monica Raymund and Joe Minoso save lives in the hottest situations in Chicago Fire, 10P on NBC.

Jimmy Smits fighting for his freedom on Sons of Anarchy, 10P on FX.

Another Wonderfully Busy Night for Latinos on TV this Tuesday

Tonita Castro Dads

Everywhere you look, there are Latinos as regulars and guests this Tuesday night:

Daniella Pineda is a witch in a city of vampires–and there are plenty of beautiful vampires to be seen–in The Originals at 8P on the CW.

Tonita Castro is the housekeeper you always with you had on Dads, 9P on Fox.

Stephanie Biatriz and Melissa Fumero are the Latina cops you want to answer your call for help on Brooklyn Nine Nine at 8:30P on Fox.

Natalie Morales Trophy Wife

Miguel Ferrer grumbles with authority on NCIS: Los Angeles at 9P on CBS.

Christina Aguilera judges and mentors more and more on The Voice, as the battles begin at 9P.

Nina Lisandrello as Detective Tess Vargas in Beauty and the Beast on the CW at 9p.

Natalie Morales is still the worst best friend on TV in Trophy Wife at 9:30P on ABC.

Sarah Shahi is never been more dangerous (or beautiful) as she is in this season of Person of Interest. Catch a new episode at 10P on CBS.

Joe Minoso and Monica Raymund save lives and break hearts–as always–And Jon Seda continues his arc on Chicago Fire, 10P on NBC.

Three Latinocentric DVDs Releasing Tuesday

A weird range of TV shows and movies dropping as DVDs on Tuesday: James (Rodriguez) Roday in Psych: The Complete Seventh Season, Sara Paxton and Sarah Shahi in the psychological thriller Static, and Danny Trejo as the redoubtable Zombie Hunter.

Eight Shows, Eight-Plus Latinos on Tuesday TV

Marcos De La Cruz

Tuesday continues to be the big winner for Latino TV this season:

Tonita Castro is the housekeeper you don’t want to mess with on Dads, 8P on Fox

Christina Aguilera continues to shape new musical careers as the Judge in Chief on The Voice, 8P on NBC.

Daniella Pineda is one of The Originals, the long-lived big bad vampires of Vampire Diaries, now in their own show at 8P on the CW.

Stephanie Beatriz and Melissa Fumero are tougher than any of the men in Brooklyn Nine Nine, Andy Samberg’s quirky cop comedy at 8:30 on Fox.

Joe Minoso

Miguel Ferrer is joined by guest Marcos De La Cruz in a new episode of NCIS: Los Angeles at 9P on CBS (and no, we didn’t forget: Cote de Pablo is done and done in the parent show, NCIS).

Nina Lisandrello as Detective Tess Vargas in Beauty and the Beast on the CW at 9p.

Natalie Morales is still the worst best friend ever in Trophy Wife, 9:30 on ABC.

Sarah Shahi is still assassinating for fun, and joined by guest star Antonio Edwards Suarez, in a new episode of Person of Interest, 10P on CBS.

Monica Raymund and Joe Minoso keep insisting on savings lives while looking gorgeous on Chicago Fire, 10P on NBC.

Too Much to Cover: Latinos All Over the Dial on Tuesday

Leonor Varela

Stars, regular cast members, guests and more: ten shows, one contest, and a documentary all on one night, and all with Latinos in mind

It’s amazing how deeply involved Latino Hollywood is on Tuesday nights this TV season. Here’s the dizzying watch list for the night:

S.H.I.E.L.D., perhaps the biggest success of the new season so far, packs up and goes to Peru, and though there are no Latinos as regular cast members (yet), the guests for this episode include Leonor Varela, Carlos Leal, Anthony Dilio, and Celestin Cornielle. See just how super it is at 8P on ABC

Cote de Pablo’s Ziva is still with us–temporarily!–on NCIS at 8P.

Cote de Pablo

Christina Aguilera returns for The Voice’s second show of the week at 8P on NBC.

Tonita Castro runs the apartment (and the lives) of Dads, 8P on Fox.

The remarkable documentary Latino Americans concludes its series with “Prejudice and Pride, Peril and Promise” at 8P on PBS.

Melissa Fumero and Stephanie Beatriz may be the two sanest people (alongside Andre Braugher) on Andy Samberg’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine, but everybody’s still fun as hell. Sample it at 8:30P on Fox.

Miguel Ferrer calls the shots (or at least he thinks he does) on NCIS: Los Angeles, 9P on CBS.

Natalie Morales

Natalie Morales is the worst best friend ever in Trophy Wife, 9:30P on ABC.

A news crew profiles the lottery winners, including Luis Antonio Ramos and Alex Castillo, Lucky 7 at 10P on ABC.

Sarah Shahi manages the impossible of being in two places–and being two people–at once. First, she’s the gleefully murderous no member of the Machine Team on Person of Interest, 10P on CBS…

…and then Sarah joins Monica Raymund and Jon Seda in Chicago Fire, also at 10P, but over on NBC.
