L-r: Kevin Munroe, James Arnold Taylor and Bella Thorne
Ratchet and Clank movie brought back so many memories of my son’s pre-teen years and one of his favorite PlayStation game, Ratchet and Clank.
The film is by director Kevin Munroe (TMNT), joined by Bella Thorne (voice of Cora), James Arnold Taylor (voice of Ratchet), and David Kaye (voice of Clank.
At WonderCon 2016, I got to sit in on a panel about the film, where they talked about their understanding of the love for the Ratchet and Clank characters and described how they really tried to do them justice in this first film based on the game. The producer and director gave Bella Thorne all the credit for the social media awareness for the film’s fan base.
Munroe, Taylor & Thorne
Now that I’ve seen the film, I can say, you don’t have to be a gamer to enjoy it; the film is really cool and fun to watch.
Now you can sit back and listen in on the conversation with director Munroe, Taylor and Thorne.
The other voice-talent in the film include Paul Giamatti, John Goodman, Rosario Dawson, Jim Ward, Armin Shimerman, and Sylvester Stallone. — A.O.

Papa Hemingway in Cuba Red Carpet t-b: Bai Ling, director Bob Yari, Angela Ortiz, Maz Jobrani, Adrian Sparks, Shaun Toub, and Jacob Vargas.
“In order to write about life, you must first live It.” — Ernest Hemingway
Papa Hemingway in Cuba is the first Hollywood film to shoot on location in Cuba since the 1959 revolution.
Papa Hemingway in Cuba is the true-life story of a young journalist who finds a father figure in legendary author Ernest Hemingway. Their relationship began in the late 1950’s when Ed Myers, then a junior reporter at The Miami Herald, wrote a fan letter to his idol. Myers thought he was being pranked when the larger than life Hemingway phoned the newsroom a week later, inviting him to Havana.
There’s some good acting, and I found Adrian Sparks Hemingway’s portrayal especially wonderful cause I felt I was watching the real Hemingway. Plus some of the film felt like a Hemingway book.
Directed by Bob Yari (Crash, The Illusionist) and also starring Giovanni Ribisi, Joely Richardson, Minka Kelly, Shaun Toub, and Rodrigo Obregón.
In the video below, listen to what director Yari said about working in Cuba and learning more about Hemingway. — A.O.
I’ve been watching Rene’s career for years and I’m very excited to see where he is at the present. If you aren’t familiar with his name, you probably have seen him on some of these television shows: Rizzoli & Isles, Criminal Minds, Bones and films like Go for It!, Filly Brown and J.J. Abram’s Star Trek Into Darkness.
Rene Rosado in Major Crimes
We got together at my favorite coffee spot and talked about his recurring role on TNT’s Major Crimes as Gus Wallace, and how this new television family has welcomed him. He’s working on the fifth season already and couldn’t give us even a teaser about it.
Rene Rosado
We covered an array of subjects, like his non-profit organization, A.I.M. (Artistic Inspiration and Mentoring). The program brings different artists to speak to inner city students, in the hopes that they will be inspired to become whoever they aspire to be. And he shared some of his plans for the future.
Now sit back and listen in on our fun conversation. — A.O.
Pantelion’s newest U.S. release is Compadres, an action-adventure, comedy and buddy film. The film has its highs and lows and fans of Omar Chaparro, will be surprised to see him in a different role than his usual high jinx.
Omar Chaparro and Joey Morgan
We had the opportunity to speak to a few of the actors about working on the film and they had a lot to say, when we could actually listen. The interview with Chaparro and Joey Morgan was quite a ruckus but we got a few things on audio for you to listen to.
Aislinn Derbez and Camila Sodi told us, though they weren’t in the film a lot, their parts were crucial to the story, and then laughter ensued. And they are ready for the sequel, Comadres, so, please #Comadres. They shot in Ensenada and between takes; there were lots of laughter.
Derbez & Sodi
