Mayor Eric Garcetti proclaimed April 25 La La Land Day in Los Angeles and honored writer/director Damien Chazelle for his magical portrayal of the city and its iconic locations.

To mark the occasion, BANDALOOP aerial dancers performed a medley of dances inspired by the film high up on the façade of City Hall and the mayor performed with the Jazz band from the movie.

Mayor Garcetti was joined by director/writer Damien Chazelle, producer Jordan Horowitz, composer Justin Hurwitz, production designers Sandy Wasco and David Wasco, and cinematographer Linus Sandgren.

Now enjoy some of the images and video clips of the day and composer Hurwitz tells us, how he keeps working on being a better composer all the time.

La La Land is now available on Digital HD, Blu-ray and DVD. — A.O.

We love Rosario Dawson in just about everything she does and we even thought Katherine Heigl did pretty well as a psycho in this psychological thriller.

I’ve seen many of these films before: Fatal Attraction, Mommy Dearest, Obsessed, and a few others, in between…and all of them much more entertaining. I really wanted to like this film but it had many issues for me. After listening to longtime producer and first-time director Denise Di Novi and the actors talk about the film, I realize the issue I had with the film was the editing.

The plot: Barely coping with the end of her marriage, Tessa Connover (Heigl) learns that her ex-husband David is now happily engaged to Julia (Dawson).
