Lynda Carter on “The Talk” and Cesar Milian on “Chelsea Lately” Tuesday

Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter on The Talk on CBS at 2P ET and 1P PT/CT. Then gather your dogs around the DVR when you replay tonight’s episode of Chelsea Lately with Cesar Milian, at 11P on E!. And turn the sound up, too. He is the Dog Whisperer, after all.

“Curandero” and “Curious George” Out on DVD Tuesday

Remember last week when we had truly impressive Latino films like Gun Hill Road and A Dark Truth being released? Keep that in mind as we point out that the only vaguely Latinocentric movie being released this week is a “Robert Rodriguez presents” issue of the 2005 gore “classic” Curandero: Dawn of the Demon, as a slightly icky reminder of the deep Latino roots in contemporary horror films, now available on DVD. Better luck next week. And for the little ones, no matter if you are Latino or not—there’s a new Curious George, Swings into Spring is out on DVD.

Selena Gomez is One of the “Spring Breakers” in the Highly Buzzed and Strangely Dark Indie Premiering (partly) on Friday

It was a hit at SXSW, and it may very well be the grown-up hit that Selena Gomez so richly deserves. And it’s opening this Friday in L.A. and New York, with a wider release across the country a week later. And even two out of three critics seem to like it, with oddly backhanded compliments like, “Spring Breakers is a mainstream art film that is ludicrous amounts of fun, even if the plot is absolutely preposterous and downright silly,” and, “If Michael Mann was to take a lot of hallucinogenics and shoot a Girls Gone Wild video, it might look something like this.” Or, to put it another way (as one reviewer did), “An almost indescribably weird little movie.” Judge for yourself–or try to–in this short clip that features Selena, her costars, and a nearly unrecognizable James Franco

Marco Sanchez: From Flower Delivery Boy to Vice President, Sanchez is Making a Mark

Do you know this man? You should. He’s not just a hard-working and consistently successful actor–a mainstay of Latino Hollywood from Knots Landing more than twenty years ago, he’s also an effective producer and writer who’s making his presence felt at a variety of levels.

The son of Cuban immigrants, and the youngest of 4 siblings, Marco Sanchez was raised in Palm Desert, California. After Knots Landing, he was part of Steven Spielberg‘s seaQuest DSV, and even a regular on Walker, Texas Ranger for a while. Since then, his resume reads like a list of high-end TV dramas, from 24 and Desperate Housewives to ER and The Mentalist. He’s recently been seen in the recurring role of Alejandro Rivera on NCIS, the highest rated hour-long on TV today.

Meanwhile, he’s stayed busy in feature films as well, working with major names like director John Badham and J.J. Abrams (he was part of Super 8 a few years back), and distinguished fellow actors like Dennis Quaid, Kevin Spacey and Morgan Freeman. He’ll even make it all the way to Vice President of the United states in one of this year’s biggest films, Iron Man 3. A Latino V.P., no less, named Rodriguez. And still: that’s only part of the story. Marco co-founded Lyceum films in 2006 with Michael Goorjian and Muse Media Center founder Noah Veneklasen. Marco’s producing credits with Lyceum include Players’ Club, 5 Wishes, The War Prayer (for which he also wrote the adapted screenplay), The Shift, and Tales of Everyday Magic, a continuing anthology of uplifting hour-long stories. You can see previews of the first four, already completed here

NCIS

Today, Marco is continuing to produce and write, and working on Jennifer Love Hewitt’s Lifetime series The Client List, which premiered its second season on Sunday March 10. (You can catch that first new episode half a dozen times this week, with another one next Sunday). And you can see him as Dr. Ortiz in the March 18 episode of Secret Life of an American Teenager at 8P on ABC Family.

A busy man with a lot on his plate (did we mention his wife and daughter?), who’s already accomplished a great deal, with much more to come.

“Switched,” “Dallas,” and “Monday Mornings” New on Cable this Monday

Cable continues to be a rich environment for Latino actors, including Constance Marie in Switched at Birth, 8P on ABC Family, Dallas with Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzalo, Marlene Forte and more at 9P on TNT, followed by Alfred Molina in the medical drama Monday Mornings at 10P on TNT.

“The Following” and “Deception” New on Monday

Lots of reruns right now, but there’s some new stuff to be found if you look, like Adan Canto in the increasingly violent and intense The Following at 9P on Fox, followed by Laz Alonso being sexy as ever in NBC’s Deception, 10P on NBC.

Jessica Alba’s on “Ellen” Monday

Whether she’s talking about Sin City or her family life, it promises to be good clean fun when Jessica Alba joins Ellen DeGeneres on Ellen, Monday March 11. Check your local listing for the exact time. She’s slippery!

New “Once,” “Revenge,” “Good Wife,” and “Red Widow” on Sunday

A lot of Latinos on a busy Sunday night, with Lana Parrilla in Once Upon a Time and Zak Santiago guest stars at 8P on ABC, Makenzie Vega on The Good Wife, 9P on CBS opposite Madeleine Stowe on Revenge on ABC. And Pedro Pascal joins Clifton Collins, Jr. on the new ABC thriller Red Widow at 10P.

Alyssa Diaz is Back for More on “Army Wives”

Alyssa Diaz

You may not know it, but you know Alyssa Diaz. She may only be in her mid-twenties, but she’s been a familiar face on television for most of her life, with her first appearances when she was barely sixteen on The Brothers Garcia and American Family. She did her time in the soaps (As the World Turns) and was a guest star on a dozen different high-end hour-long dramas, including the CSI and Law & Order franchises. In 2010 she had a multi-episode arc on Southland, and the following year she co-starred in the short-lived but well-respected Nine Lives of Chloe King. She’s kept her hand in on feature films as well, with work in Shark Night and Red Dawn; she was also a key player in a post-apocalyptic TNT pilot, The Last Ship that’s still in the hopper

Joseph Julian Soria

And of course, there was Army Wives. Alyssa joined the ensemble as “Gloria Cruz” for the 2012 season, and she’s back for more, along with her on-screen husband Joseph Julian Soria, with new episodes premiering Sunday, March 10. They’ll be rejoining long-time members Catherine Bell and Kelli Davis (among others) and newcomers Brooke Shields and Ashanti, (also among others–many others).

It’s hard to believe Army Wives has been part of the Lifetime schedule for more than seven years already; maybe its hardiness–like Law & Order and CSI before them–is the tradition of a constantly changing set of central characters and situations. But it’s good to see a Latino element in the mix, however belatedly–and good to see it back for a second year in a row.

Check out the new episodes Sundays at 9P on Lifetime.

“Last Man Standing,” “Malibu Country,” “Golden Boy” and “Blue Bloods” All New Tonight

Hector Elizondo is the best friend ever on Last Man Standing at 8P on ABC; at 8:30 Jai Rodriguez is the most stylish friend on Reba McIntyre’s Malibu Country. In an episode that’s actually the second one in the series that never aired. And even though you can see an all-new episode of Kevin Alejandro and Odette Annable continues her arc in Golden Boy at 9P on CBS, the series really isn’t moving to Fridays; it’s staying on Tuesday, and Vegas—with or without Aimee Garcia—is moving to 9P on Fridays beginning next week. Meanwhile, beautiful up-and-covers Marisa Ramirez and Audrey Esparza are guest-starring on Blue Bloods at 10P, also on CBS.
