Bertila Damas is Returning to “Grimm”

Great news! Our friend Bertila Damas, whose formidable character Pilar was a hit on the “La Llorona” episode of Grimm last Halloween, is coming back for more: she tells us, “I am back as Pilar for the next 2 episodes.” She can’t say much without giving it all away, but it does have to do with Juliette, an there may be even more to come: “Who knows?” she says. “But there I am, and in Spanish again…which is very cool.”

Watch her this Friday, April 5th at 9P on NBC.

A Good Wednesday: New “Criminal Minds,” “Family,” “L&O:SVU,” “Chicago Fire,” “Americans,” “Nashville”

A few Latinos guest star on Criminal Minds, Adela Tirado, Ricardo Mamood-Vega on CBS at 9P. It seems like forever since we’ve seen new editions of Modern Family with Sofía Vergara and Rico Rodriguez at 9P on ABC, then at 10P, Jay Hernandez continues his arc on Nashville also on ABC. And you can also see the heroic Danny Pino bein’ all heroic on Law & Order: SVU, and stick around for Monica Raymund and Joe Minoso on Chicago Fire at 10P on NBC. Or you could move down the dial to FX for Maximiliano Hernández on The Americans at 10P or James Roday in Psych on USA.

Same Women, Different Show: Rosario Dawson on Leno, Eva Mendes on Tavis Smiley

Rosario is almost certainly talking about Trance, as well as the zillion other projects she’s working on, while Eva is batting clean-up for A Place Beyond the Woods, but they’re both great. Ms. Dawson graces The Tonight Show with Jay Leno at 11:35P on NBC; Ms. Mendes is on The Tavis Smiley Show on PBS (check your local listings).

Marisa Ramirez is in Two Places (and on Two Networks) at Once

Beautiful, talented, and very busy, Marisa shows up as two different cops on two different shows: Blue Bloods and Body of Proof.

Marisa Ramirez has been walkin’ the walk and talkin’ the talk for a decade now. She did her time in the soaps (General Hospital, The Young and the Restless), did a few ‘crazy’ comedies and thrillers in feature films, and showed up in a wide range of hour-long TV dramas, from Castle to Bones to Supernatural. Throughout, she managed to play Latinos as often as not…though her first big-notice break was as a decidedly non-Latina in Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, just a couple of years ago.

Since then, it’s been a bit of a whirlwind: starring in the short-lived series Against the Wall and in the infamous TV movie Prosecuting Casey Anthony, with Oscar Nuñez and Rob Lowe. And now she’s appearing in two places at once–as Officer Riley Dunn in ABC’s Body of Proof and as Detective Maria Baez, Donnie Wahlberg’s new partner, in even more episodes of CBS’ Blue Bloods. There’s Just Too Much Fluffy for Only One Special

Gabriel Iglesias: Aloha Fluffy is actually two separate and special nights of laughs on Comedy Central

2013 is shaping up to be a very good year for Gabriel Iglesias. He’s a featured voice in the new Pixar movie Planes, he just had a big interview with Mario Lopez, and now he’s got another special for Comedy Central that’s so big it’s actually two full hours–and therefore two separate shows.

Part One of the “the supersized two-night world premiere of Gabriel Iglesias: Aloha Fluffy airs Sunday, April 7 at 9P; Part Two airs Sunday, April 14 also at 9P, with a special encore of the entire special airing Saturday, April 27, at 9:30P. The concert special was filmed in front of a packed house at Honolulu’s Hawaii Theatre Center. It opens with Fluffy sharing his love of all things Hawaiian, from his favorite luau guide bus driver to some choice local slang. From there, he regales the audience with hilarious tales from the unique life of an international comedy sensation–performing in Saudi Arabia, appearing in the film Magic Mike, and raising a deodorant-adverse teenage boy. Check out the perils of being a stepdad right here:

You can get a copy of the entire extravaganza for your very own, when an extended and uncensored Blu-ray and DVD is released on April 9. That’s the same day you can download it in HD and SD on iTunes, Xbox Video Marketplace, Sony PlayStation Store, Amazon Instant Video, and Vudu. Talk about wired
