NBC Shuffles its Schedule After the Holidays, Moving and Adding Latino-Centric Shows

Laz Alonzo

Alana De La Garza

With the cancellation or conclusion of a few key programs, NBC is bringing in its mid-season replacements and returning or moving some of its other shows around. Bottom line: A net gain for Latinos on NBC.

The changes are coming in late January, but sooner rather than later you’ll be looking for some of your favorite Latino actors in new time slots. First comes Laz Alonzo as part of Deception, a cross between Dynasty and Revenge in which the childhood friend of a dead socialite, now an FBI agent, re-introduces herself to the highly suspicious family of her murdered BFF. It premieres Monday, January 7 at 8P.

Then later in the month, on Thursday January 31, Alana De La Garza will star, along with Steven Pasquale, in Do No Harm, a medical thrillers about a renowned and heroic neurosurgeon who apparently has a “dangerous alternative personality.” That will premiere after the one-hour series finale–announced long ago–of 30 Rock. Thereafter, the beloved but long-absent Community will return, while a relocated Parks and Recreation with breakout Latina star Aubrey Plaza will permanently take the 8P slot bust before it, beginning February 7.
