As an artist, I’ve always admired Picasso’s talent. He had a way of breaking down an image to its most primitive form and giving the viewer something to ponder. As a human being, he was quite complicated.
Now, National Geographic new season of the Emmy-nominated series, Genius is back, with Picasso. We have seen four of the episodes and spoken to two of the stars of the series, Poppy Delevingne (Marie-Thérèse Walter) and T.R. Knight (Max Jacob). We enjoyed the episodes we watched because they are more than just about Picasso; they’re also about many of the talented people around him who had interesting lives themselves. Now we are looking forward to the upcoming episodes, starring Antonio Banderas (Pablo Picasso), Alex Rich (younger Pablo Picasso), Samantha Colley (Dora Maar), and Clémence Poésy (Françoise Gilot).
