Fox buys a new family “dramady” from Silvio Horta & Jennifer Lopez

Deadline.com reports that Silvo Horta, the creator of Ugly Betty, and Jennifer Lopez have landed a “script commitment with penalty” deal with Fox for a new family comedy-drama series. The best part: this is actually about Latinos, just like Betty was (partly). This time, Deadline says, it’s about three sisters and “their interlinked lives.” (Is ‘interlinked’ better than just ‘linked’? They must be really close.) This could disappear in development hell like so many other good ideas, but it’s nice to see Latinos getting the green light on actual Latino projects, and not just ride-alongs on things like, well, you know, American Idol. More as this develops (or not).
