A Cure for Wellness Sparks Conversations

Gore Verbinski, the director of The Ring, comes a new psychological thriller, A Cure for Wellness. At first, it felt like an old Ingmar Bergman film, and then it took some turns I didn’t care for. I realized this film didn’t do it for me and I was hoping for a true psychological thriller, with that said, I’ve learned that they are films for every audience.

Synopsis: An ambitious young executive is sent to retrieve his company’s CEO from an idyllic but mysterious “wellness center” at a remote location in the Swiss Alps. He soon suspects that the spa’s miraculous treatments are not what they seem. When he begins to unravel its terrifying secrets, his sanity is tested, as he finds himself diagnosed with the same curious illness that keeps all the guests here longing for the cure.

We got a chance to talk to some of the film stars, Dane DeHaan, Mia Goth, and director Gore Verbinski. The film opens on February 17.
