Cirque du Soleil’s astounding Big Top production is coming to Southern California, LUZIA! In Los Angeles from December 8, 2017 at Dodger Stadium and in Costa Mesa from February 21, 2018 at OC Fair and Event Center.

Cirque du Soleil is pleased to announce the upcoming Southern California engagements of its delightfully-imaginative and visually-stunning production LUZIA, a waking dream of Mexico. Audiences are invited to a redesigned white-and-gold Big Top in Los Angeles and Costa Mesa to escape to an imaginary Mexico–a sumptuous world suspended between dreams and reality.

In a series of grand visual surprises and breathtaking acrobatic performances, LUZIA takes audiences on a surrealistic journey through a vibrant world filled with wonders, playfulness and striking artistry. Smoothly passing from an old movie set to the ocean to a smoky dance hall or an arid desert, LUZIA cleverly brings to the stage multiple places, faces and sounds of Mexico taken from both tradition and modernity. Rich in awe-inspiring moments, LUZIA enchants by incorporating rain into acrobatic and artistic scenes–a first for a Cirque du Soleil touring production.

Ingrid Goes West synopsis: following the death of her mother and a series of self-inflicted setbacks, young Ingrid Thorburn (Aubrey Plaza) escapes a humdrum existence by moving out West to befriend her Instagram obsession, a Los Angeles socialite named Taylor Sloane (Elizabeth Olsen). After a quick bond is forged between these unlikeliest of buddies, the facade begins to crack in both women’s lives—with comically malicious results.

We got to hangout with artist/muralist Moncho1929. He did a few murals for the film Atomic Blonde with Charlize Theron, James McAvoy, John Goodman, Til Schweiger, Eddie Marsan, Sofia Boutella, and Toby Jones. Moncho1929 was born and raised in New York City, he has lived and worked in London, Italy, Korea and currently in Los Angeles. Through all of these transitions he has continued to be influenced by modern media and the urban artwork surrounding it.

Moncho1929 has had shows for his works in various galleries in New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Miami and London.

His murals are archived with the Los Angeles Mural Conservancy and the Google Street Art Project and have been used by the University of Southern California, Huffington Post, numerous television shows, national commercials and news outlets. Most recently he has been interviewed and featured on CNN Español for his work in galleries and his public works.

Presently, he has many things in the works for us to look forward to.

Atomic Blonde is Atomic!

Atomic Blonde, Charlize Theron, David Leitch, John Wick, James McAvoy, John Goodman, Til Schweiger, Eddie Marsan, Sofia Boutella, Toby JonesCharlize Theron has turned into my favorite action hero. She is so impressive as a badass agent who holds her own against the bad guys in this film.

Theron did her own stunts for it and it sure paid off. There is so much action in this film it keeps you on your seat. The story plot seems a bit complicated but you can still keep up—watching the film taking place during the Cold War and against the historic backdrop of the Berlin Wall coming down in 1989 added to the film’s mystery even though that had nothing to do with the storyline. The film even has a great 80s soundtrack that took me back.

Fun at the Atomic Blonde Los Angeles premiere

Summary: An undercover MI6 agent (Theron) is sent to Berlin during the Cold War to investigate the murder of a fellow agent and recover a missing list of double agents.

Even though I am not looking for an Atomic Blonde 2, I would like to see the Lorraine Broughton character again.

As a woman it was fun to watch a badass female hold her own. Yes! It gets a 3 thumps up from me.

The Emoji Movie was probably a great idea on paper—cause even the bright colors to attract kids didn’t work with the audience I was with. My crew was made up of five people, ages 10 to 61 and we all agreed that what was funny wasn’t funny just ironic. We did think that the funniest line in the whole movie was when Poop (Patrick Stewart) chanted, “We are number 2!”

Synopsis: The Emoji Movie unlocks the never-before-seen secret world inside your smartphone. Hidden within the messaging app is Textopolis, a bustling city where all your favorite emojis live, hoping to be selected by the phone’s user. In this world, each emoji has only one facial expression–except for Gene (T.J. Miller), an exuberant emoji who was born without a filter and is bursting with multiple expressions. Determined to become “normal” like the other emojis, Gene enlists the help of his handy best friend Hi-5 (James Corden) and the notorious code breaker emoji Jailbreak (Anna Faris). Together, they embark on an epic “app-venture” through the apps on the phone, each its own wild and fun world, to find the Code that will fix Gene. But when a greater danger threatens the phone, the fate of all emojis depends on these three unlikely friends who must save their world before it’s deleted forever.

Yes, we were hoping for more but instead we got a long phone info-commercial—We are sorry.
