Sarah Shahi Talks about Season Two of “Fairly Legal”

Sarah, of Spanish and Persian ancestry (she’s actually a direct descendant of Persian royalty) gave a meaty little interview to BuzzFocus.com not long ago, and the news is all good: Fairly Legal will be coming back soon, and the character Shahi plays will be facing new and bigger challenges with even greater passion and depth.

She describes herself as “flighty, flirty, and fierce” and that’s pretty clear. She first got noticed in recurring roles on Alias and Dawson’s Creek, and her dark good looks made a huge impression when she played a key role in the first season of The L Word. By the time she took on the co-lead as an unlikely cop with an unlikely partner in Life, NBC’s short-lived Zen detective series, her strong personality and intelligence simply couldn’t be ignored.

That’s what led to Fairly Legal on USA. It opened strong, but the ratings were shaky as the season progressed. It took the net a long time to decide to renew, but now they have, and the plans for Season Two look pretty interesting…

…not to mention her role as a “tatted and dreadlocked” daughter to Sylvester Stallone (really!) in the upcoming Bullet to the Head. Talk about a different role. And she does talk about it–and Fairly Legal–in this interview from last month’s San Diego Comic Con…
