A.C.O.D. is a clever new comedy with a ton of the best of the quirky folks on TV comedies of the last few years (Adam Scott, Amy Poehler, Jane Lynch, the venerable and brilliant Catherine O’Hara and Richard Jenkins), and one of the best things about it is Jessica Alba getting to underplay a part for a change: no guns, no garters, no girl in jeopardy, just a very good-looking woman in a problematic relationship with an almost-as-good-looking guy. Here’s the trailer for A.C.O.D., with a glimpse of two of Jessica in the middle. It opens wide October 4.
