Kevin Alejandro Returns to Network TV in “Golden Boy”

Kevin Alejandro

Kevin Alejandro may be way too handsome to look at directly, but he happens to be a solid actor as well. We’ve seen his work before in challenging roles on True Blood and Southland before, and now he’s back as part of the ensemble in Golden Boy, a new midseason series premiering Tuesday at 10P on CBS.

Alejandro is part of the ensemble backing up young British actor Theo James in his first American TV role (and sporting a newly acquired New York accent). It’s another cop drama–apparenlty an attempt by CBS to duplicate its modest success with the older-skewing cop drama Blue Bloods–about the meteoric rise of an ambitious cop who becomes the youngest police commissioner in the history of New York City. Chi McBride, Bonnie Somerville, and Stella Maeve are among the other actors at work here. The series premiere on February 26 and will air in the Tuesday 10P slight for a couple of weeks before moving to its more permanent slots on Fridays at 9P (if any time slot on a Friday night can be considered “permanent.”)  Here’s the trailer: look sharp and you might even catch a glimpse of Kevin as one of James’ team member.
